Crispy tofu bites

Sometimes I crave crispy and crunchy foods. So, inspired (by calamari really), I tried making these crispy tofu bites that really do the trick. I can't believe how well these turned out and how incredibly easy they are to make with a crunch for sure. Have them as a starter, add them to your favourite dishes or just as a snack.

Ingredients
  • 250 g firm tofu*,
    cubed
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 C flour
  • Olive oil,
    for frying
  • 1 garlic clove,
    minced

Method
  1. Soak the cubed tofu in water with 1/2 of the paprika for 15 minutes. Drain and coat with flour.
  2. After heating up oil in a fry pan with the garlic and remaining paprika, fry the tofu bites until golden and crispy. Season and enjoy!
NOTES

*You need the firm variety of tofu for this recipe to be a success (otherwise you would have sloppy tofu soup instead of bites).
Seasoning is up to you. I like to make an oil, garlic and paprika infused dressing to put with the tofu bites or you can never go wrong by pairing it with an aioli.
