Just Do It List

stick figure jumping over abyss
Are bucket-lists a waste of time? If you are looking for a simple answer: definitely not!

Here is the go

on why they matter.

I am a strong believer in the magic behind bucket-lists. Bucket-lists make us commit to ourselves. In a way, they are goals that we hope to meet and by keeping track of them, we bring them into reality. Coming from a generation that apparently has a strong aversion to commitment, the idea of binding ourselves to benchmarks could be daunting. Yet are we not responsible for our own joy and excitement?

To all the haters of bucket-lists, I’d say you are probably just afraid that your list won’t seem exciting to others or that you won’t be able to complete it. You must remember that this will be YOUR bucket-list. It is never too early, or too late to write one. Call it a just do it list. Brainstorm and think: What do you want to do? What do you want to have done? Where do you want to have been? Life is good. But why not make life amazing - set your mind to it.

I am a massive fan of lists. I regularly update my to-do list and I am so happy when I cross something off it (sometimes I even write something on it just so I can cross it off straight away… admit it, you do it too). As we constantly change and our opinions and goals evolve, the bucket-list becomes a little time capsule of who we once were and what we once wanted.

Want to know what I have already ticked off my bucket-list?

Hot air balloon ride
Hot air balloon ride

I woke up at 3am in Camden Valley to complete a sunrise ride... But I swear it was worth it. Bonus cred to whoever can pick me out in this pic.

Parasailing
Parasailing

I did this “extreme sport” in Thailand near Banana Beach. It was exhilarating. I was floating above in the air and it was so quiet. I will never forget it.

donating blood
Donate Blood

I donated for the first time in 2019 and now regularly give plasma. Every blood donation can save 3 lives - who knew saving another could be so easy! Oh and of course the milkshakes and snacks galore after doesn’t hurt as extra incentive :)

Girls sitting on met steps
Sit on the Met steps

An iconic scene from Gossip Girl. When I went on exchange in America (very lucky because it was the start of 2019 before the world completely changed), we took every opportunity we could as tourists.

pizza sandwhich with gnocchi inside at luzzo
Luzzo Italian Restaurant in NYC

I have always been obsessed with gnocchi. I read about this restaurant serving a pizza sandwich (stuffed with gnocchi) and I had to try it. Carbs within carbs? It was fabulous and to this day, my belly does not regret it.

Phi Phi islands on boat
Visit Phi Phi Island

When I went travelling with my best friend in Thailand, we were wondering if the hype about this tropical island in Thailand was all that. Phi Phi was incredible, the water was crystal clear and the photo just does not do it justice.

girl doing splits on beach
Do the Splits

I could barely touch my toes 2 years ago. I decided that it was time to change that. I dedicated 15 minutes a day to stretching with the aim of getting the splits and 3-4 months later... ta-da!

scary canary silent disco
Silent Disco

Although a bit of a gimmick. Scary Canary Tuesday nights in 2019 was the silent disco place. The three different channels were cool to flick between and would recommend to people as something new to do on a night out.

gym fit
Wear a matching set to the gym

I was one of those gym girls who wore baggy dark clothes to the gym because I didn’t want any extra attention. Then I built up the confidence to wear what I wanted to wear - definitely a bright pink matching fit kinda girl here. All in all, nobody really looks at you because everyone is already obsessed with themselves.

Here I am exposing my own still to-do bucket-list to you and yes I have categorized it because that is just how I work. Despite being basic, one of my first items was going to Greece – I really wanted to find myself like all the other girls did on their gap year! Jokes aside, I think Greece would be stunning and I am still looking forward to it.
